Great design nods to the intellect of the viewer.
It sparks a conversation and invites you to look deeper.

Odd Zero is the creation of Margaret Chiarelli (that’s me), a product of my belief that design exists to connect art, science and business. I’m inspired by the outsider peering in, a viewer drawn to an aesthetic without immediately knowing why. To me, great design offers value in layers, to be revisited and to inspire. My approach aims to appeal to the viewer’s initial and delayed attraction–the practical surface experience and the pensive for those who want to find more. My background in fine art is no doubt responsible for my fascination with layers, levels and subtext.

I make my home in Littleton, MA. When I’m not in the studio I’m hiking, making art and framing art, or grease-monkeying around with my 1950s era letterpress.
